How to Book
We work Duarte from our Azusa location, three miles out, so there's no branch office here and no separate crew - just a shorter drive than most of the other towns we cover.
Width and bay type
Call or book through our site, tell us the door width and whether it's a single or double bay, and we'll set a day to come measure. If you're not sure what you have, a photo of the door from the driveway and one from inside the garage looking at the track and springs tells us most of what we need before we ever show up.
Opening measured first
We don't quote a full install over the phone without seeing the opening - header height, track clearance, and whether the framing is square all change what door fits. For straight repair work rather than a full swap, our Duarte repair page covers that separately.
Swap-specific scope
If you're comparing install options more broadly, the Azusa installation page has the general rundown. This page is about the swap itself - what a Duarte garage, built when this one probably was, actually needs replaced.

How Long It Takes
A straight swap on a single door - old door off, new door and matching hardware on - usually runs a half day once we're on site.
Non-square openings slow
Doubles or anything where the opening isn't square take longer, and we won't rush that part; a door that isn't plumbed right binds a track within a year. The bigger variable is the door itself. Standard steel sizes we keep on the truck or can pull fast.
Order lead time
Anything custom - a nonstandard width, a specific insulation rating, a color match - adds lead time on the order's end, not ours, and we'll tell you that up front rather than guess at a date.
Standard era openings
Given that most of Duarte's housing dates to the 1960s, openings here tend to run standard sizes built to code from that era, which keeps most jobs on the shorter end. We won't promise a same-day install on a door that has to be special-ordered - that's the one honest limitation worth saying plainly before you book, not after.
Parts We Carry
Given that homes in this part of the service area mostly went up in the 1960s and 70s, we carry what that era's garages actually need: standard torsion springs sized for single-layer steel doors, extension spring conversions for garages that were never retrofitted to torsion, and steel rollers to replace the original steel-on-steel ones that have usually worn their tracks oval by now. For doors, we stock standard steel panels in common widths, plus insulated steel for anyone upgrading rather than just replacing like-for-like - worth it here since the moderate heat band means a garage without insulation runs noticeably hotter than the house most of the year. We don't stock wood doors or custom glass-panel units on the truck; those are special order and we'll tell you that lead time before you commit, not after we've already pulled the old door.
What the Repair Takes
Pulling an original door off a house from this build era means dealing with hardware nobody's touched since it went in - torsion hardware mounted straight to a wood header, galvanized track that's pitted but not yet failed, and a spring that's either original or was swapped once decades ago under tension nobody logged.
Full hardware replacement
None of that gets reused. A new door install means new track, new rollers, and new spring hardware sized to the new door's weight, which is almost never identical to the old one even if the panel looks the same width.
Settling signs on frame
We also check the header and jambs while the opening is exposed - on a house this age, if there's been any settling, it shows up here before it shows up anywhere else in the house.
Squareness check
If the framing's out of square by more than a small margin, we say so before hanging anything, because a door mounted to a bad frame will bind within months regardless of how good the door itself is.
The Cost of This Job
We don't publish a flat number for installs because door size, insulation, and hardware grade move the total more than almost anything else. What we can say is that Duarte's median household income, just under $98,000, puts a standard insulated steel door comfortably within what most owners here budget for a home improvement job, without needing to stretch toward a premium or custom option. If you're deciding between repairing an aging original door and replacing it outright, that calculation usually comes down to the spring and track condition more than the panel - a panel can look fine for years after the hardware underneath it is already shot. We'll walk the opening with you and tell you straight whether a repair holds for a few more years or whether you're better off doing the full swap now instead of paying for a fix that just delays the same decision.
